How We Assist
Relevant information is always at the heart of effective decision making.
EqLD provides you with local based equality data that focuses on the nine protected characteristics outlined in the Equality Act 2010 so you can make informed decisions when considering how your actions might impact on the communities you serve. Without knowing who they are, how can you know how your actions are equitable?

Why do you need the data?

The Equality Act requires public bodies, or any other organisation carrying out a public function, to consider all individuals when carrying out their day-to-day work – in shaping policy, in delivering services and in relation to their own employees. The Act also requires them to have due regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between different people. These organisations must publish information that shows how they are complying with the Equality Duty and setting equality objectives. Failure to do this can have serious consequences - anyone who believes that they have discriminated against can take an organisation to court or a tribunal which is likely to be costly in terms of money and reputation.

EqLD enables you to demonstrate that you have used the relevant data in making your business decisions.
Need to carry out engagement or consultation?

We can identify local people or organisations with whom you can consult on changes you might be planning.

Need to know when an area might be more busy that usual?

We can find information about local events, religious establishments, schools and colleges and more.

Our insights help you understand your current and potential customers, service users, visitors or talent pool - for example, considering the needs of disabled people opens up the ‘purple pound’ market to you, worth £249 billion in the UK. Making your business accessible to people with protected characteristics makes it accessible to everyone.
